Tiff Weekend
I got the chance to document actor, Sinqua walls during his press run for the film Nanny and The Blackening. I wanted to take a photo journalistic approach to documenting him because I was going to be spending a considerable amount of days with him. I was familiar with Sinqua from shows like Teen Wolf and Power but I took some time to check out some of his interviews to get an idea of him outside of his acting persona. We got on a call prior to meeting to do a formal introduction and discuss what he wanted to capture while in Toronto. The conversation flowed very seamlessly as we both had similar ideas for what we wanted to get out of this - the essence and true persona of Sinqua. Which I have learned is a very likeable person who has a foundation which he lives his life by and doesn't stray far from those principles.
I acted as a fly on the wall, observing everyone in the room and looking for those moments that captured the energy - it was the stamps. in between locations and off time i had the chance to converse with sinqua while we were going through the experience. many things stood out that let me know this was a man who understood his reason.
