WAD Ball
Ballroom is a space where I find wonder meets imagination and boosts creativity in a way that I truly appreciate. From categories like bizarre, movements seen in FQ performance and outfits imagined in runway, you get the chance to see many possibilites in how we can express ourselves. Here in Toronto, they have an annual event highlighting Ballroom culture, LGBTQIA+ BIPOC talent, and the importance of HIV awareness, education, and linkage to care. One of my good friends is a participant and staple of this community and I definitely wanted to come in support and also have a moment to capture people of this community as I find their presence to be very important in our existence.
